The rest of the days === Vietnamese Exchange

Welcome Dinner! Okay before that, check in to Hangout @ Mt Emily. COOL PLACE LAH! Budget hotel but still very nice. Chinatown and Little India were like.. totally shopping trip! Wow. Some of them spent more than 50 bucks on souvenirs!! Then again I have to say that the quality and variety of Singapore souvenirs are pretty amazing. Wow! Dinner was great but but but couldn't finish. Luckily we had Terence =). Oh. Before that, to amuse themselves, the students held a mock wedding. Note that the blue shirt guy is the FATHER of the girl, not the groom. =) And the boys are as.... close to each other as the IP boys.
Performances! The German teacher didn't look too enthusiastic... got a Vietnam flag!
BBQ at Mel's place. You see all of them being happy and Quan (oh no. is that his name??) dancing with Jo! (The dancing with Jamie was to practice for Jo's dance!)
Farewell dinner... not all of us could go see them off at the airport the next day due to lessons. Had dinner with The Important People (TIP!). Sat with Mrs Cheng. Pretty.. subdued--the mood at our table, contrasting the other two tables. Kim bought them marshmellows ('cause they don't seem to have tasted it in Vietnam!!!). Yay. At Hangout, met some... Italian (??) ladies. They requested that our Vietnamese friends sing for them and they did! Cross Cultural indeed. =)
Good bye!

Day 2
The Vietnamese students have this habit of waking at 7AM DURING HOLIDAYS. Sad or not? The cable car ride to Sentosa cost $12.90 (I think) and two-way is just $1 more! Then Shihui, Peixin & their Buddies cabbed down to the zoo. $20. Nice nap. Then we saw the rest. =)
So glad to have been invited to Enqin's place (don't have to think of what to do at night). They cooked for us! The spring rolls thingy. Yay! And the guy (middle left) is Chandler (named after Chandler in Friends) is the cousin of one of the Vietnamese students. He's PR. He is really helpful in bringing them around!Labels: pictures, Vietnamese Exchange

Day 1 after my camera has been fixed
It was meeting our Vietnamese friends time! Went to Queenstown to collect the camera but didn't bring my memory card! So only pictures of the night. It was Esplanade, then Clarke Quay/Boat Quay. Wow. Tourists get all these perks! Like free fortune telling and caricature! Had food at Glutton's Bay but didn't take any pictures. =)Labels: pictures, Vietnamese Exchange

No Update
Lots of fun things happened recently including seeing many people drunkkk.
First, she reaches for the ABSOLUT. Looks pretty okay right?
To prove that she's not NOT NOT drunk at all... she walked in a straight line.
Next, we have Biq.
Then, we have YB with her SUDDEN OUTBURST of DRUNKEDNESS!

While people watched....

I love love love this picture! Shows four different poses of four different people. Like.. concubines.

All pictures taken from lhz's album. =)

Book List
In my phone you'll find the closest thing I have to a wishlist.A Booklist.
Here goes (in order of 'discovery', not merit):
1. Words that Work: it's not what you say but what people hear written by Frank Luntz
2. Adverbs: A Novel written by Daniel Handler (Lemony Snicket)
3. Then We Came to the End: A Novel written by Joshua Ferris (He wrote JPod [which I've yet to read] too I think!) Opps no not him. JPod's Douglas Coupland. Just the same feel.
4. The Black Swan: The Impact of the Highly Improbable written by Nassim Nicholas Taleb
5. The City of Dreaming Books written by Walter Moers
6. Power, Faith and Fantasy: America in the Middle East: 1776 to the Present written by Michael B. Oren
7. Send in the Idiots: Stories from the Other Side of Autism written by Kamran Nazeer
8. Can't Wait to Get to Heaven: A Novel (Ballantine Reader's Circle) written by Fannie Flagg
9. Never Let Me Go written by Kazuo Ishiguro
10. The Memory Keeper's Daughter written by Kim Edwards
Didn't realise that I have exactly 10 BOOKS! Great for a booklist! Now I just have to get them. I have to confess that most of the books, I don't know what they are about at all. Proves the power of a great title and attractive book covers.
Wanna get me a book?
Today, Ha, YB, Huizhen EACH won a $20 KINOKUNIYA BOOK (what else?) VOUCHER!!
